The firm is deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend Carl Spencer on the 24th of May, 2009. At the age of 39, Carl had become one of the most outstanding underwater explorers of his generation, a humble man with exceptional skill, grace and deep modesty. He was a true friend who always conducted himself with integrity and class.
Carl died while exploring the wreck of the Britannic, sister ship to the Titanic, on behalf of the National Geographic Society. We were looking forward to working with Carl on another project later this summer, and we will find it difficult to go on without him.
Carl leaves behind a wife, Victoria, and a young son and daughter. Our hearts go out to his family. We share your profound grief during this difficult time.
To Carl, wherever you are, we hope that you are looking down with a smile on your face. You achieved so much in so little time, and you will never be forgotten.
May you rest in peace,
David Concannon
